Winter Heights- a poem

Wind wiped frozen tears in cheeks
By hands of wintered breeze

Earth made new and newly white

Kites caper cloud to sky
Looping cornered shapes in eyes

By sleight of hand our hands hug
Toes in fortitude of snow and sand

Bones plumb curt in motion
Awoken with the hush of tide

Hallowed ground became the ocean
Kites brush, blush, and shy

Sight made lashes tear, divide
Engraved in beach hopes to fly
